Reflection

Including technology that is new and relevant into a curriculum is a great way to engage students and expose them to to otherwise unknown possibilities for art making. This lesson plan addresses the phenomenon of memes in pop culture and how it reflects our current social climate. By utilizing two apps, Google Arts & Culture, and Mematic, students delve into the meme making process while considering their voice on current social topics. I found the process to be both fun, simple, and thought provoking. This would be a great mini-lesson to introduce digital art making.
